Support Some Worthy Causes!

The kids and I are participating in a few upcoming fundraisers, each of which is unique and worthy of support. In an effort to share these efforts with you and ask for support, I'm sharing them each within this post.  If any or all of them move you to make a gift, volunteer or participate - wonderful!

Thank you for taking a minute to visit.

May 3, 2013 - Walk A Mile In Her Shoes

This is a one mile walk I will be doing with one of my best friends in heels through downtown York during the fun First Friday festivities, in support of a program that provides support to victims of domestic and sexual violence and other violent crimes.

Personally, I've known too many people who have been victims of such crimes... anything that can help prevent future abuse or help those who have suffered get back on their feet is great.

May 11, 2013 - JDRF Walk To Cure Diabetes

This walk raises funds for the millions of people living with and affected by type 1 diabetes (T1D). Participants, walking alone or in teams, raise money for JDRF—the largest nongovernmental funder of T1D research.

We're joining some local friends and thinking of those we know impacted by diabetes across the country while participating in this local event.

June 1, 2013 - The NephCure Walk

The NephCure Walk is NephCure’s walking fundraiser designed to raise vital dollars to further our mission of saving kidneys, saving lives. More than a fundraiser, The Nephcure Walk provides support for those lives that have been touched by Nephrotic Syndrome and FSGS while raising awareness in our communities.

We're doing this walk in honor of Mayra Briggs, the daughter of local friends.
